The NHS Eye Test is free to

  • Under 16s
  • Under 19s in full-time education
  • Over 60s
  • People who require certain complex lenses
  • Anyone with glaucoma or diabetes
  • Over 40s and the brother, sister or child of someone with glaucoma
  • Anyone on income support, income-based job seekers allowance, pension credit guarantee, tax credit

Vouchers are available in the following cases

  • Under 16s

  • Those with a HC2 certificate
  • In some cases, those with a HC3 certificate
